The Standards Committee
The Police Authority, in common with other local Authorities, has a Standards Committee in order to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by the Authority’s Members. The Authority’s Standards Committee comprises 4 existing Members of the Authority and 5 Independent Members who will be appointed specifically to serve on the Standards Committee.
Members of the Standards Committee
Independent Members of the Standards Committee must
Be approved by a majority of the Members of the Authority
Not have been a Member or Officer of the Authority for a period of 5 years prior to their appointment
Not be a relative or close friend of a Member or Officer of the Authority
Be prepared to attend meetings of the Standards Committee as necessary. (As a guide, 1-2 meetings a year are held for which an attendance allowance and expenses are payable.)
The North Wales Police Authority wishes to reflect the composition of the area and welcomes applications from all eligible people irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability or other factor. We want our Members to represent as diverse a range of people as possible. The Authority has a Welsh/English bilingual policy and a translation service is available for Members who are unable to communicate through the medium of Welsh.
