Complaints

If you have a complaint involving the Police Force or the Police Authority, please proceed as follows: 


  1. If your complaint relates to the conduct of the Chief Constable, the Deputy Chief Constable or the Assistant Chief Constable you should write to the Chief Executive.

  2. If your complaint relates to the conduct of a more junior member of the Police Force or it relates to the control and direction of the Police Force you should write to the Professional Standards Department.

  3. If your complaint relates to a member of staff of the Police Authority you should write to the Chair of the Police Authority.

  4. If your complaint concerns a Member of the Police Authority you should write to the local ombudsman for Wales whose contact details are: 1 Ffordd yr Hen Gae, Pencoed, Bridgend CF35 5LJ Tel: 01656 641150 Fax: 01656 641199

  5. If you wish to make an allegation of fraud, misuse or corruption in confidence to an independent contact, please refer your allegation to the Wales Audit Office. Please write to the PIDA Officer, The Auditor General for Wales, 24 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LJ Tel: 01244 525980 or e-mail: whistleblowing@wao.gov.uk
