Home Office Transition PCC Programme

Across the Home Office a Police and Crime Commissioner Transition Programme has been established, overseen by Nick Herbert MP - Minister of State for Policing and Criminal Justice to support a coherent and seamless transition.

The programme cover the range of issues involved in establishing PCCs from operating principles, to establishing the local elections.

There is also a specific transition project Board to look at Wales, and the differences that need to be considered in implementing the changes bought forward through the Police and Social Responsibility Act.

Further information on national developments will be available through the Home Office website http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/police/police-crime-commissioners  or general enquires on the introduction of Police and Crime Commissioners can be directed to the Home Office pccinfo@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Below is a link to a series of bulletins from the Home Office on the establishment of police and crime commissioners (PCCs) and in particular on their potential relationship with other local leaders. They aim to keep you informed about what the Home Office are doing and what opportunities there are for partners to get involved.
