Partnership Working

We work closely with our partners in North Wales to deliver the best possible services and try and develop long terms solutions to make North Wales a better safer place. As with our other work some of these activities happen in a organic informal way, but we also work in partnership in more formalised ways, including:

Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs)

Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) were established back in 1998, with the intention of brining together local agencies to work together to reduce crime and disorder.

The Authority together with North Wales Police Force, Betsi Cadwalader University Health Trust, Probation Wales, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the 6 Local Authorities in North Wales have been legally responsible for ensuring:

·         Production of an annual Strategic assessment of crime and disorder for each CSP

·         Production of rolling three year plans to improve community safety and address the issues identified in the annual strategic assessment

Together with non-statutory partners such as the Youth Justice and Courts Services, we have, and continue to work together to reduce crime, disorder, antisocial behaviour including environmental crime, substance misuse and reduce re-offending.

Local Service Boards (LSBs) and Community Strategy's

Recently the Authority has become a statutory partner for local service boards (LSBs) and community planning otherwise known as community strategies.

LSBs were established to:

·         Improve the quality of life and joined-up service delivery for citizens in their areas;

·         provide the leadership to ensure that difficult issues across public services are confidently managed not avoided or ignored;

·         stimulate integration, co-ordination and co-operation between local, regional and national public sector organisations;

·         set an example of innovative, citizen-focused leadership at the heart of the local partnership and delivery system;

·         ensure an effective whole system response to the needs of citizens by pooling resources;

·         "unblock blockages" by removing bureaucracy or other obstacles
