Performance Scrutiny

A key part of North Wales Police Authority's role is to scrutinise North Wales Police on their performance.  There are a number of ways in which we carry out this role.  One of the most important is monitoring performance against the Annual Policing Priorities.  There are a number of targets that are set under each priority.  Monitoring the Force's progress throughout the year in achieving these targets is vital to our scrutiny role.  Nonetheless, there are various other forms of information that we use to analyse and hold the Chief Constable to account.

Many of these documents are within the public domain, i.e. they are available to the public either on request or through the Force or Authority websites.

This page of the Police Authority website has been designed to give you easy access to many of the documents we use to review the ongoing performance of North Wales Police.
Each document is listed under one of the five annual policing priority headings.  Some documents may be relevant to more than one priority, where this is the case it will be listed under the priority that is most relevant.

Click on the links below to see the documents listed under each priority.  Please note this is not an exhaustive list.  Documents will be reviewed and added to this page on a regular basis.

The 5 Policing Priorities – 2011/12

Ensuring that people have trust and confidence in North Wales Police

Reducing and resolving crime and anti-social behaviour that impacts our communities

Protecting people and reducing harm

Delivering a quality service that meets the needs of our communities

Providing a well led, organised and skilled workforce

The policing priorities are set out in the Annual Policing Plan.  As part of our scrutiny of Force performance against these we also have an overall view of performance in the Annual Policing Plan Performance Summary which is updated on a monthly basis.
