Working with other Police Authorities

We have outlined some of the ways in which we work with other Authorities and Forces on the collaboration pages, but in addition to this we also work with Authorities throughout England and Wales to share good practice and information, to manage and interpret national change at a local level, to share learning and development plans and experiences, and to improve the knowledge and understanding of the Authority. Some of the ways we work with other Authorities is on an informal basis, however we also work formally in specific forums and networks, which include the following.

The Association of Police Authorities (APA)

The Association of Police Authorities (APA) was set up to represent police authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, both on the national stage and locally.  More information about the APA can be accessed through  http://www.apa.police.uk/

North Wales Police Authority has been allocated two seats on the APA Council and is represented by the Chair, Alun Lewis and Vice Chair Ms Nia Evans.

Association of Police Authority Chief Executives (APACE/WAPACE)

Association of Police Authority Chief Executives (APACE) and the Wales Association (WAPACE) are associations of police authority chief executives, and are used primarily as a forum to address issues, problems or challenges that authority’s may encounter

Association of Police Authority Treasurers (APATs)

The Association of Police Authority Treasurers (APATs) is a forum to aid in sharing of good practice between Police Authority Treasures.
