Police and Social Responsibility Bill

The Authority has agreed to establish a Transition
Board to develop transition plans and to undertake
joint thinking between stakeholders on how the
working relationship between the Commissioner,
the Panel and the Force might be developed.

Collaboration

At its meeting on the 22nd July 2011, the
Authority were provided with an update
on the progress that has been made in
collaboration with other police forces
and partner agencies within Wales, the North
West and also on a local basis.

Partnership Review

Following a Partnerships Rationalisation Review
it has been agreed to reduce the present
partnership structures across North Wales using
50% reduction as a guide.  The review was
commissioned by the senior management of Local
Authorities, North Wales Police, North Wales
Fire and Rescue Service, Third Sector, the Betsi
Cadwaladr University Health Board, Welsh
Ambulance Service and the Wales Probation Trust.

Estates Review

The Authority were provided with an overview of
the approach that will be taken, indicative
timescales and an update on progress made to
date.  Production of the final report is targeted
for the end of October 2011.

North West Police Helicopters Take Off


A new regional police air operations service took to the skies across the North West on 18 July 2011 which will offer the region a flexible, cost-effective, cross-border helicopter fleet.

 

The North West Air Operations Group is a regional collaboration between five forces and police
authorities, and will operate four helicopters. The
new service will dispatch the aircraft from a regional command desk to incidents across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and North
Wales.
